Living My Passion

Hey there 1Dray fans!

Thanks for visiting today! You know in life you get very few opportunities to live out your passion. There seems to always be some obstruction to your wants and desires, and let's face it...life's rough at times. Today I simply want to encourage you to GO FOR IT! I mean really put the pedal to the metal and start reaching your goals. Why? Well why not? a

Think about the time we sweat and stress at our 9 to 5 to help someone or some organization live out their passion! That's good for them, but what about you? I'm not saying it's not good to be a solid worker on your job, in fact I encourage you to shine on your job, I'm simply saying look at all that you do for your company and ask yourself---what if I gave just half of that same energy to my own passion. What could I accomplish? So here are 3 simple things that I do for my 1Dray Production that has helped me to build an online presence.

Take Your Passion Seriously

Is your passion gnawing at you daily? Is there something inside you that you know you should be doing? If that passion is sitting in the pit of your gut and ready to burst then it's time to give birth to it. For me audio home recording had been a fun hobby for years. I would go down into my OddioWorx studio and bang out f few tunes and enjoy basically entertaining myself and a few friends. But as I began to grow in my knowledge of audio recording and began to make solid mixes, I knew that the days of "playing" in the studio were over. I became very passionate about building my studio, updating my gear, building and networking with other producers, and growing in my craft. This is how I knew that audio recording was my passion. I realized that in order to live, breathe, and grow in this business, I had to go from hobbyist to entrepreneur.

Burn Some Bridges

If you know me at all, especially my Facebook fans, then you know that I've tried many way to earn an extra income. From travel to legal, online marketing to a digital store, I tried it all. The time and money spent and wasted was phenomenal. Finally after chasing the golden fleece and waking up, I came to the conclusion that in order to do something well, you first have to do something right. Admittedly I had to let many of the "dreams' of earning an income fall away and decided to commit to my audio recording passion. You must do the same! You have to learn to prioritize your passion over the noise and build a solid foundation before you can soar. You may have to let dead businesses, nay-sayers, friendships, and even your own negative thinking fall away before you can move forward. Burning bridges is a necessity to secure your success in your passion.

Carve Out the Time

I know that it may be difficult with jobs and family to carve out any extra time for your passion---but do it! Finding an extra 15 - 30 minutes a day is all you need to get started. Think about the time spent on Facebook, email, or watching TV each day.  How can we spend hours on things that are not our passion and will never bring joy or satisfaction to our lives vs taking the time to build and grow our passion? Time will pass by whether we like or not, so what I'm saying is this---if you want to live with passion, build your passion, and grow your passion---You have to make time for your passion! I usually get up early in the morning to write, mix, master, and work on my 1Dray Production web page. I usually spend 1-2 hours during this time to ensure that I'm taking steps to grow my passion. You can't predict the outcome or success of your passion, but you can take and make the necessary steps toward that outcome. Do something each day to move in that direction, and you will eventually get there. How fast is totally up to you!

So there you have it friends! by taking your passion seriously, burning those bridges from things holding you back, and carving out time to grow your passion, you have the foundation to making it happen.  And when you finally reach your destination---let me know about it so I can applaud you!

Love and Life
