My new 1Dray Reggae band, Blind Lion has just dropped the album, "Roaring Whispers"! I have to admit going in I didn't really know the direction of the album until I got a jump-start with the song "No Home". This song created the mood I was looking for and the real core direction for the album. The song states, "No home to run to, No where to turn, and No one cares" as haunting truths for a real blind lion, but also as the pain and hardships for anyone traversing the landscape of loneliness or despair
I chose the name Blind Lion as a humorous, but serious analogy of what it would take for a literal blind lion to survive. He would have to use his other senses, or the help of other lions to find his way, he would be very aggressive and creative in his hunting techniques, and he would have to be willing to survive in ways other lions would not.
Reggae music has always inspired something different in the music scene. I always feel that island wave-relaxing vibe when I check it out. I did create one tune on my first Neo-Soul album, Neolistic called "The Grind", which was a fan hit, so I knew even back then that I wanted to go back and play in the Reggae world. I pray this album takes you on a natural ride, and you share it with those fellow music lovers.
The message of Blind Lion Roaring Whispers is simple - Enjoy life! Although we go through the pain and heartaches of this life, you still have to make it through and enjoy each moment. Learn from life, Listen to life, Love this life---and Hold on!
