Getting Focused!!

Hey 1Dray Fanz!

I know for me during this crazy time it has been hard to stay focused. With so many areas of our lives being uprooted and knocked around, staying focused and committed to our dreams can sometimes be difficult. But taking the time to focus your energy is vital to reaching those dreams that you want to accomplish. You still need to dedicate the proper laser focus on doing the things you want to do.  So here are a few ways that I use to keep my focus mojo intact.

1) Walking - Yes. I enjoy walking. It's relaxing, I get a chance to get out and enjoy a bit of nature, and it keeps me fit. By walking and listening to soothing music, positive sermons or messages, or an audiobook, I've learned to focus my mind on something positive during my exercise.  This keeps me engaged in both the rhythm of my walk and the audio recording. I also have to focus on the roads around me. LOL.

2) Getting up Early - For some reason I've always been an early riser. I think since my dad used to get up and go to work early, that just became natural for me. By getting up earlier, one can focus their mind for the day. I start with a quick prayer, and then I usually grab a cup of tea and head to the studio. My mind works better in those early hours, and I truly benefit from starting the day on a mission. I sometimes write down goals to accomplish, plans for the future, and the time seems to always be well spent. The times range from as early as 3:30am - to 5am, but when I utilize those early moments, I feel refreshed, renewed, and reinvigorated! Many motivation gurus claim that getting up early has been key to their success---just saying!

3) Learning from Others - That old saying "imitation is art" doesn't just work with art and music, it also works with getting focused. One recent way that I've been able to get focused is by learning from other online artists, web-designers, producers, etc.  This was also I trick I utilized when I was teaching. Teachers are constantly "borrowing" ideas from one another. (Why reinvent the wheel?) For example:  As I've been looking for ways to optimize my YouTube channel, I decided to take notes on a few of my favorite channels. I really focused on:  Why did I subscribe to certain channels; What made the channels interesting; How were the channels unique; What eye-catching colors were used; etc.  By getting focused on what others were doing with their YouTube channels, I began to see a few patterns in what made certain channels stand out from others. This knowledge helped me to start looking at ways to design a better 1dRAY YouTube channel

There are tons of ways for you to get focused, but I wanted to share a few of the ways that have helped me along my journey!

Stay Focused!
